3200 lbs (car, driver, & helmet before feature race)
Standard transmission add 100 lbs.
Center dump exhaust add 100 lbs.
Any made for racing clutch – double or triple disc add 100 lbs.
All added weights to car should be painted white and have car number on it. No weight below the frame. All added weights shall be securely fastened with minimum 1/2" steel grade threaded rod. Adding weight for a rules violation will be allowed for one race only. It must be corrected by the following week. This excludes all special shows, you must be legal to show up and race the big shows!!!
HEAD AND NECK RESTRAINT SYSTEM HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Body
No station wagons, convertibles or front wheel drives. No unibody Camaro, Mustang, etc. Truck bodies OK on full stock metric chassis.
1960 or newer.
Minimum wheelbase 108 inches.
No cutting, chopping, channeling or shortening of frame allowed, other than to allow for truck body to fit metric frame.
No holes in hood except for hood pins.
Body sheet metal remains stock and in place at all times. Cockpit must remain open. Building of dash OK.
Stock floor pan and front and rear firewalls to remain intact.
All Holes plugged.
Hood and trunk lid to be pinned.
Doors to be welded, chained or bolted.
All glass removed, all windshields to be Lexan.
All chrome and lights removed.
All door panels, carpet, headliner, plastic, upholstery and any other flammable materials must be removed.
Racing type seat mandatory – no fiberglass. Seat belts must be properly installed – five point system only-3 years or newer.
Fully charged and properly mounted fire extinguisher is mandatory; 2.5 lbs. minimum.
Front and rear stock bumpers only; must be strapped, bolted or chained. Wrap around bumpers only. NO cut offs.
Batteries to be securely fastened and covered.
r. No mirrors; no radios.
s. Gas tanks must be securely fastened. Fuel cell OK. Mounted above centerline of rear end, 8 in. minimum clearance.
t. Window net is mandatory.
u. Complete steel stock body or Five Star steel body kit OK, 81-88 Monte Carlo w/tube bumpers and plastic nose and tail pieces are legal. (Five Star Style or equal).
Frame
Stock frame – must be original frame that came with body, unless you are running a truck body, at which time you can alter frame to accept truck body – must remain stock from front to rear – stock pedals – tubular steering shaft with a minimum of two universal joints OK. Collapsible steering shaft highly recommended.
No aftermarket suspension parts – stock mounts. No 3 link suspensions. Stock 4 link only in stock location.
A-arms, spindles, rotors, calipers, tie rods, drag links, steer box, trailing arms, etc. to be stock OEM. You can cut and alter A-arms to gain caster and/or camber. No adjustable ball joints! All cars will adhere to a minimum ride height of 6 inches.
Safety constructed 4 post roll cage with minimum 3 bars on driver side. 1 ½ in. OD .090 wall. Front and rear hoop OK. Driver's door must have a 10"x30"x1/8" minimum steel plate welded or bolted securely to cage.
Stock pigtail style springs in rear. No adjustable or spring spacers in front or rear, all wedge spacers, front or rear must be non adjustable type! 2" inspection hole must be cut into front of spring pocket! Stock appearing shocks only.
Stock length A and B pillars, no lowering or moving of roof.
Engine Drive Train
Engine must be stock appearing, all cast iron – stock location! Roller cams, roller rockers assemblies OK.
No aftermarket intakes and exhaust manifolds.
Locked rear ends OK. No other modifications; must be stock for year and make of car, no cambered rear ends.
Stock or aluminum radiator in stock location – front hoop to frame horns OK.
No electric fuel pumps, stock style HEI ignition only. No MSD style.
fCar to have 4 wheel stock brakes that are all operational. Stock location. Aftermarket brake pedal add 100 lbs.
Carbs must be Holley 4412CT or stock for that make and model of car. Must have choke horn, 2 barrel only, no exceptions! Max adapter spacer is 1", any material. Absolutely no modifications to carbs, aftermarket Holley 4412CT carbs are not acceptable.
A transmission to be stock for year and make of car – reverse gear is mandatory. No transmission coolers in driver's compartment. Automatic transmissions only. 12" torque converter. No direct drive transmissions. Car must idle in gear w/hands on steering wheel. Power glides without converted accumulator and working 12 in. torque converter
Drive shaft hoop mandatory!
100 DB mufflers mandatory!
OEM brakes only, no aluminum.
Aftermarket gas pedal OK.
Tires/Wheels
To be announced.
All wheels are to be 8" steel safety type only – 1" lug nuts highly recommended!
Miscellaneous
Welds and safety equipment will be inspected.!
The interpretation of these rules is at the discretion of the track officials. Safety rules will be strictly enforced. This class is for beginners! A breakout qualifying time will be established.
ANY INTERPRETATION OR CHANGING OF THESE RULES IS AT THE
DISCRETION OF THE OFFICALS. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL!
ANY MAJOR INFRACTION OF RULES WILL BE ASSESSED AS A FORFEITURE OF POINTS AND MONEY'S EARNED FOR NIGHT. This will be at the discretion of the tech inspector.
